Not Settling for Less

When a person is not whole, being mistreated feels normal...

Not knowing your truest value will result in accepting less than you deserve. This is also the path to being manipulated into thinking that your sacrifice of self is a reasonable compromise. Wholeness is the key to understanding your distinct and unique purpose in the earth. Without it, you will bargain your life to the highest bidder.

In John 5 chapter, Jesus asked an impotent man at the pool of Bethesda, "wilt thou be made whole"? This question seemed a little odd, considering the man was stuck laying by the pool for 38 years. Based on the response to Jesus, he desired the same healing that was demonstrated year after year by virtue of the pool. Like this man, we often seek for solutions that are recognizable and attainable. We limit our transformation to what we can see. While healing can be great... wholeness is greater. Why... because healing whether medicinal or miraculous, usually only affects a specific area. Interestingly, wholeness includes healing, but healing doesn’t include wholeness. Wholeness affects the total being... defined as an undivided completeness with nothing wanting. Being whole is supernatural... it is the transcendence to become one with God.

Jesus offered the man something greater than anything he had ever seen, or experienced. Being whole, would bring him in proper alignment with the divine life purpose that reaches far beyond his inability to walk. Jesus offers us the same thing... to discover our true selves through oneness with the Father. Wholeness is the path to understanding our intrinsic value. We are much more than our abilities; we are the treasure in earthen vessels. Wholeness will prevent us from limiting ourselves to the opinions of others and drive us to become fully what God intends. It is at this juncture, where our lives will become “haggle free” and non-negotiable.
